Wednesday 15th February
Eventure Hornets 54 (T. Gibson 18, D. Bourgaize 16) v Bachmann 28 (W. Van Katwyck 11)
Eventure Hornets chalked up another win in Wednesday's division 3 match up as they claimed a comfortable win against Bachmann. The Hornets always looked in control as they won all four quarters largely thanks to Tanya Gibson's accurate shooting. They moved the ball well on offence and managed to keep Bachman's leading scorer Wendy Van Katwyck to just 11 points as they ran out victors 54 - 28. Tanya Gibson top scored with 18 points for Eventure, backed up by Denise Bourgaize with 16.
RGF 60 (M. Hamon 14, T. Creed 13, I. Froome 8) v Dee-Caf Magics 33
RGF kept their title hopes alive with a solid performance against Dee Caf Magics in the development league. The trio of Max Hamon, Tom Creed and Ian Froome lead the way as usual for RGF as they combined for 35 of RGF's points, well supported by Sam Inder who scored 11. After a close first quarter RGF upped the tempo to take a 36 - 18 lead at the half. The 2nd half was closer and had Dee-Caf made more use of their free throws (they scored only 3 from 16) it could have been closer still. RGF still managed to take all four quarters and were lead by Hamon (14), Creed (13) and Froome (8) in the 60 - 23 win.
Mavericks 47 (G. De La Mare 11) v Goldridge Estate Agents 62 (C.Lamb 25, P. English 12)
Goldridge got their title hopes back on track as they defeated league leaders Mavericks in the Division 2 top of the table clash. The Mavericks are notoriously slow starters but on this occasion didn't speed up. Chris Lamb led the way in the first half as GEA dominated to lead 37 - 26 at the half. It was a similar story in the 2nd half as Phil English and Glenn Walker picked up the slack to ensure Goldridge ran out comfortable winners by 62 to 47. Chris Lamb top scored with 25 assisted by Phil English with 12. Gavin De La Mare was the only Mavericks player in double figures with 11.
Friday 17th February
Learning Company 25 v Collins Stewart 3 69 (L. Brown 25, K. Brown 16)
Collins Stewart 3 made light work of the Learning Company in Friday's division 3 game as they made the most of their opponents slow start. Collins Stewart started well and had no problems finding the basket with regularity as they romped to a 35-8 half time lead. The combination of Lorna and Kerri Brown was the catalyst as they combined for 41 points - Lorna with 25 and daughter Kerri with 16. The Learning Company improved in the 3rd quarter as they became more aggressive around the basket and focused more on retaining the ball and taking their time on every offence. Unfortunately The Learning Company could not maintain the pressure and Collins Stewart once again took control in the final quarter to claim victory by 69 - 25. Collins Stewart remain on course to retain their division 3 title.
RBC 72 (A. Le Masurier 34, S. Batiste 24) v Colourcare Cavaliers 68 (T. Dundon 33, C. Simon 17)
Business league champs RBC met current development league leaders Colourcare in the first round of the business league knock out. The game was tight throughout as both teams relied heavily on two players - Aaron Le Masurier and Sam Batiste sharing the workload for RBC while Tone Dundon and Chris Simon scored the bulk for the Cavs. RBC lead 16-9 after one quarter but the lead could have been far greater if they had converted any of their 8 free throw attempts. The Cavaliers surged back in the 2nd and 3rd quarter through Dundon as he carried his team closer to victory. Unfortunately Simon fouled out late in the 3rd giving Le Masurier and Batiste more room to operate. They took full advantage scoring 20 of their teams final 26 points and despite Dundon's 33, RBC hung on for a 72-68 win. Le Masurier finished with 34 for the victors with Batiste adding 24. Simon added 17 for the defeated Cavs.
Northern Trust 63 ( S. Duquemin 25, D. Girard 12, F. Lihou 11) v Les Camps Eagles (K. Le Parmentier 10)
In the final Friday night game Northern Trust played Les Camps Eagles in a business league match up. Despite some good drives to the basket by Keith Le Parmentier and Nigel Edwards for Les Camps, Northern Trust were able to find the basket with far more regularity and ran out eventual winners by 40 points. There were some glimmers of hope for Les Camps who went on a couple of scoring runs in the 3rd and fourth quarters. Northern Trust's talisman "Mr. NBA" Simon Duquemin proved unstoppable once again, scoring 25 of Northern Trust's 63 points. He was ably assisted by Dave Girard who scored 12 and Frankie Lihou who scored eleven, including one three pointer from outside the arc.
