Bachmann 45 (Van Katwyck 25) v Richmond Grammar 46 (H Priaulx 12)
Bachmann continue to improve under coach Joe Maloret and his side nearly pulled off an upset as Richmond Grammar hung on to win this close contest. Bachmann made a quick start and jumped out to an early lead through Wendy Van Katwycks shooting. Julie Elmy also had a good game at point controlling the offence and chipping in with valuable buckets when needed. When the paid were rested early in the 2nd quarter Richmond sensed their opportunity and gradually eased into the lead. Richmond continued to pull away and held an 8 point advantage with a minute remaining in the game. Van Katwyck made a big three and then a two pointer from a steal to cut the gap to 3 and Julie Elmy layed up to cut the deficit to 1 with 20 seconds on the clock but 2 missed shot attempts by Bachmann in the closing seconds ensured that the Richmond girls took home the win. Van Katwyck top scored with 25 for Bachmann.
Under 17 Boys (M Hamon 14, S Rowe 14) v Les Camps Eagles
The Under 17 boys collected another win in the business league as they defeated Les Camps with room to spare. Credit must go to the Les Camps side as they were not over awed by their skillful opponents. However they could not cope with the running game of the Island side and fast break upon fast break gave the Under 17's easy scoring opportunities which had they taken more ruthlessly would have added 30 more points to their total. The missed chances will not have pleased coach Adam Farish but the result was never in doubt - the Under 17's winning by 84-17.
Le Mont Saint 61 (Roberts 21) v Collins Stewart 1 41 (Stuart 15)
The top of the table clash turned out to be a flop as a scrappy game ended with a deserved victory for LMS. Roberts was the catalyst with 21 points for the victors with only Jeff Stuart offering resistance with 15 for the reigning champions.
Division 1 is now wide open with all teams having lost once which should make for an exciting league. Collins Stewart will be keen to improve on their dismal display as the only managed double figures in 1 quarter of the game while Le Mont Saint will want to continue this form all the way to the end of the season. The full report is available in Friday 18ths Press.

RGF 64 (Hamon 19) v Colourcare Cavs 59 (T Dundon 15)
RGF claimed a hard fought victory over the table topping Colourcare Cavaliers. The game was littered with fouls and missed free-throws but in between, both sides showed off their potential with some good basketball. RGF focused on a more team-orientated approach with 4 of their starters registering double figures. Colourcare were more reliant on Tone Dundon and Rhys Ward for their points with Chris Simon having an off night under the boards. This win for RGF puts them right back into the title chase with the top two both having lost once. Max Hamon lead all scorers with 19 points for RGF with Tom Creed adding 14. Dundon paced the Cavs with 15 backed up by Ward with 14.
Goldridge Estate Agents 38 (C Lamb 20) v Breydole 33
Another scrappy game this time in the second division where Goldridge met Breydole. Both team started slowly with missed shots a dime a dozen. At half time the score was 20-12 in favor of Goldridge but the third quarter and early part of the fourth belonged to Breydole as they took the lead on Phil Sweets three pointer. Kasper Vjaska answered right back with a three of his own and it was then left to the Guernsey Veteran Lamb to pile his team on his shoulders and carry them home as he scored his teams final 8 points to snatch victory by 38-33. Goldridge move to second in the table behind the Mavericks. Lamb finished with 20 points for the winners.
