CIA 34 v Goldridge de Beauvoir 23
The two most in-experience teams in Division 3 clashed at Beau-Sejour and it was the newly formed CIA All-Stars who came away with a good victory. CIA lead the game from start to finish but the game was a lot closer than the score-line suggested. The difference between the teams was simply the ability to put the ball in the basket. Goldridge created ample oppotunities but their lack-lustre finishing meant they were always chasing the game - they also struggled from the line making just 2 from 18 attempts. CIA also missed their fair share of scoring chances but their higher percentage from the field gave them their first win of the season. Holly Headington had an outstanding game for the victors, registering 16 points.
Coloucare Cavaliers 82 v Dee-Caf Magics 47
Colurcare got back to winning ways with a comfortable victory over Dee-Caf. Although the margin of victory was a healthy one, not enough good things can be said of the gallant Dee-Caf team, sporting possibly two of the smallest players in GBA history. For a team that have never played competatively, Dee-Caf showed a great deal of potential as they continue to improve. They fought hard and for three quarters of the game were just about in touch with the current league leaders. However the fourth quarter saw the experience of Colourcare push their advantage as they scored numerous fast break lay-ups without reply. This win keeps the Cavaliers at the top of the development league but Dee-Caf can take great heart from a battling defeat.
Goldridge Estate Agents 51 v La Frat All-Stars 50
Goldridge and La Fraternelle met in the first round of the Division 2 Knockout and produced an exciting and close fought match. It was a heated affair with numerous player, technical and unsportsmanlike fouls being called by the officials and in the end it was the Chris Lamb lead Goldridge team who scraped the win. Liz Kerr was on fire for the All-Stars scoring 5 three pointers. Goldridge rellied heavily on Chris Lambs 25 points, which he could have doubled if it had not been for an excellent defensive performance from the All -Stars man in the middle Paul Battle. Battle blocked shot after shot and collected numerous rebounds as La Frat kept in touch. Going into the last minute, Goldridge lead by 1 when Neil Davey headed to the charity stripe for two free-throws that would win it for the All-Stars. Unfortunately for him and his team-mates, he missed them both and as time expired, Goldridge had managed the narrowest of victories by 51-50.

Richmond Grammar 37 v The Learning Company 16
In a low scoring contest Richmond Grammar put in a good second half performance to win comfortably by 37-16. The scores were tied at the half but a strong third quarter from Richmond (17-1) put paid to TLC's hopes of an upset. The Richmond team moved the ball well and created good scoring opportunities from which Kath Guille profited by bagging 11 points. The Grammar side travel to Bristol in a weeks time to take on some UK oppositionand based on their second half performance in this game, they should do well.
Under 17 Boys 78 v Specsavers 17
The Under 17 boys continue to sweep aside their opposition but it was a much better display from a Specsavers side that have been well under par in recent weeks. However they would wish to forget ther first half as they struggled to find the basket every time down the floor causing their heads to visably drop. At half time with the score standing at 42-2, you could forgive Specsavers if they decided not to come out for the second half but after a rousing speech by coach Phil Sweet, they came out a completely different side. They defended with aggression, attacked the basket and looked like they were starting to enjoy themselves. The second half score of 36-15 preoved that they can be competative at this level providing they give it 100%. Ricard Fletcher shone for the Under 17 side bagging 6 three pointers in his game high haul of 24.
